They are the foundation of economic progress and the building blocks of our world. AUDA-NEPAD and its partners’ Skills Initiative for Africa program helps young people who want to change their lives, and the fortunes of their communities and societies. The Skills Initiative for Africa promotes the dissemination of innovative approaches for practice-oriented TVET in Africa. The Skills Initiative for Africa embraces excellence, and encourage hundreds of thousands of young African people to turn their passions into a profession.
In this video, the current landscape of skills is unpacked with its contributing key factors, including; Its role towards poverty alleviation, ensuring political stability, promoting sustainable development and enabling social participation among youth. Furthermore, the practice within the governments, corporates and the education sector in the continent including World Skills Competition. The video gives visual clues to skills, building up a picture of what the different sector needs to play in skills development.
