The AU has made several calls in normal times and in emergencies for measures to ensure safety of medical products in Africa (e.g., Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), COVID 19):

• The African Union (AU) has called upon AUDA-NEPAD to work with partners to ensure support for the accelerated development of medical products so that  African populations can have safe access to them in a timely manner

• Deliver a Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy response to COVID 19 and other future emergencies
