A well-functioning information and communication technology sector has been recognised as a critical requirement for economic growth, hence emphasising the need to afford every country in Africa with access to this important resource, ensuring African countries are connected to each other and to the rest of the world. Using the key findings from an analysis of ICT in Africa, the report aims to prioritise projects most important to facilitating access to regional telecommunications infrastructure. The vision for the sector (e-Africa) is discussed highlighting the actions to be taken in the sort, medium and long term towards achieving the vision. The PIDA ICT Strategic Framework, Infrastructure development programme and Implementation strategy are shared in this report.
