Description : Enhance interstate and regional connectivity, through upgrading a priority road section along a critical national and international corridor. The proposed project contributes to the overarching goal of integrating South Sudan to the regional markets and supporting the newly independent African State to function as a nation.

Project Status Contract type : Build, Maintain Operate; Detail design complete. The first phase of this project (US$80 million) is being funded by World Bank; because of the outbreak of civil war in South Sudan, the project is yet to be approved by the Bank. The second phase of the project (in Kenya) is expected to be prepared next fiscal year,subject to IDA resource availability.
