The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency launched the African Biosafety Network of Expertise (ABNE) on April 9, 2010, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. ABNE is a continent-wide service network of the NEPAD Agency with an overall goal of building functional biosafety systems in Africa.
