Africa Pharma Conference 2020 Postponed
MEDIA RELEASE
Friday 20 March 2020
Africa Pharma Conference 2020 Postponed
This release serves as notice that the Africa Pharma Conference 2020 has been postponed to a date that will be communicated in due course.
This decision was not arrived at lightly as over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the situation around the world with respect to Covid-19 (Novel Coronavirus) to assess the risks associated with holding the Africa Pharma Conference.
Many countries have issued travel bans and advised against all large gatherings. The Republic of Kenya (the host country for the conference) and several European countries have been placed in a lock down to counter any further spread of the virus.
As a result, the Africa Pharma Conference has been postponed to a later date.
The new conference dates will be communicated in due course with the host city still being Nairobi in Kenya as originally planned.
We note the commitment many individuals and organisations made as they planned to attend and exchange valuable knowledge at the conference. As a result, we are currently exploring ways in which we can still support this agenda with the aid of technology leading up to the conference. Considerations to host webinars/podcasts and more are underway and will be communicated in time, kindly follow us on social media and look out for e-mail communication regarding the same.
The PMPA agenda remains one that is central not only to the continent’s industrialization agenda but also the support of Africa’s human capital development.
As such a decision cannot be made unilaterally, this pronouncement comes following full consultation with all the conference partners.
Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
