Agenda 2063 is built around seven core aspirations that reflect the collective ambition of Africans for the development of Africa.
The Second Ten Year Implementation Plan of Agenda 2063 outlines seven ambitions, these are called moonshots, of how the continent aims to achieve key priorities, goals and targets to achieve in the next 10 years. These moonshots are predessors to the Agenda 2063 aspirations which shall be achieved by 2063.
The Goals of Agenda 2063 are anchored on the 7 Aspirations and Moonshots, designed to propel Africa towards a future of prosperity and influence. They are underpinned by specific priority areas such as education, health, economic transformation, agriculture, environmental sustainability, infrastructure, cultural renaissance, good governance, equity and full participation of all citizens.
The flagship projects of Agenda 2063 are key programmes and initiatives which have been identified as accelerators for Africa’s economic growth and development as well as promoting our common identity by celebrating our history and common heritage. The Flagship projects encompass amongst others infrastructure, education, science, technology, arts and culture as well as initiatives to secure peace on the continent.
